I made a healthy, delicious 8 hour turkey chili in the crockpot and it was so hot, I had to cool it down w some cooling garnishes. There's so much flavor in this chili you won't miss the ground beef!
Ingredients
Seasonings:
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 1⁄2 teaspoons ground coriander
2 1⁄2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 1⁄2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon oregano
1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ tsp salt
⅛ tsp pepper
Chili:
1 1⁄2 lbs ground turkey
1-2 peppers (red, green, or yellow) diced
½ jalapeno pepper diced
½ onion minced
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans
Garnishes:
Sour Cream
Tortilla Chips
Avocado
Cilantro
Corn
Shredded cheese
Instructions
In a skillet, heat olive oil medium heat, and add ½ of the onions and saute until transluscent, then add ground turkey with a pinch of salt and cook until no longer pink
Drain.
In Crock-Pot, add ground turkey, tomatoes, tomato sauce, two cans of beans, dry seasonings
on top add onions, and peppers
Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Half way through, stir all the ingredients
The chili will be hot, so add cooling garnishes and enjoy!
