It's Fall in New England, so we went apple picking, and I made homemade apple crisp. Sure, butter makes anything better, but it's the freshly picked apples that will make your apple crisp sensational!
Ingredients
  • 2.5 TB White Sugar
  • ½ Tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • ¾ cup wheat flour
  • pinch salt
  • ½ cup butter room temperature
  • 6 apples
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Fill an 8 x 8 pan or rectangular pan with fresh peeled and sliced apples.
  3. Sprinkle 2 TB of granulated sugar over the apples.
  4. Combine cinnamon, brown sugar, flour, salt and rest of sugar in bowl
  5. Mix in ½ cup of room temperature butter, adding the butter in marble sized pieces.
  6. Mix until the butter pieces are the size of peas.
  7. Spread evenly over the apples, slightly pressing the topping own onto the apples.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the apples are fork tender.
  9. Cool and serve with fresh, vanilla ice cream
