Earlier this week, my mom, her co-worker Chef Cliff, and I met up at the NY Fancy Food Show. Our good friends from Ann Arbor, The Deschaines, represented Al Dente Pasta at the Food Show; a most vibrant and colorful booth full of pasta!

To paint a picture, this is North America’s largest specialty food and beverage event featuring over 180,000 samples including confections, cheese, coffee, snack, spices, ethnic, natural, organic and more.

Food Sampling

This was my first food show, so I was fortunate to bump into Food Show Veterans, Alma Schneider of Take Back the Kitchen and her lovely friend Julie Rosenberg. In this short interview, Alma and Julie gave me a few pointers about the art of food sampling. The take away? Don’t eat bread, alternate the sweet and savory, AND wear comfortable shoes.
