Caramelized Onions


Caramelized onions add sweet, bursting flavor to salads, pastas and other main dishes, especially pizzas! These flavorful onions are easy to make but just take time to cook. So grab a glass of wine, slowly sauté the onions until wilted and caramel in color, and remember, don’t burn them! Recipe at the end and send me some pictures of your pizzas with caramelized onions!

Caramelized onions is a delicious ingredient that enhances pizza, pasta, or a main dish.
  • 2 sweet onions
  • 2 TBS olive oil
  • 1 TBS Butter
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Pepper
  • Pinch of Sugar
  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a pan. When melted add the onions and pinch of salt and pepper for five minutes. Then add a pinch of sugar and lower the heat for 20 minutes and watched it carefully so doesn’t burn. It's finished when the onions take on a soft, wilted, caramel color.
